Over the last ten years, the Northwest SEM Collaborative has worked to support a community of practice around SEM, with annual workshops focused on relevant SEM topics. The 50001 Ready program also accepts energy performance improvement data from other readily available tools including the Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. After implementing the system, users can submit their facilities for 50001 Ready recognition directly through the Navigator. 5001 Ready Navigator is maintained by DOE. ISO 50001 utilizes the management system model of continual improvement that ISO also uses for other standards, such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
